Greenhouse & Polytunnel

Paper mulch or cornstarch film used in greenhouses and polytunnels are a match made in heaven. The UK can be a windy place, so we are always advising customers to weigh down the edges, don't let the wind catch it! One of the many perks of a greenhouse or polytunnel is that you don't need to necessarily cover your mulch with a layer of weed free top soil or compost, or go too crazy with securing the mulch membrane into the soil. Of course, some growers prefer the aesthetic of soil over paper and it can add an extra layer of warmth and retain moisture.

All the mulches we provide work with drip irrigation systems, or with overhead watering. Porous thick paper is specifically formulated to maintain its integrity even when wet. Water beads off the cornstarch film, draining into the holes and the soil.

100% Biodegradable, the mulches we provide slowly decompose over the course of the growing season. After you harvest, it can be simply left or incorporated right into the soil, adding beneficial organic matter or moved to a compost to continue biodegrading.
